We gladly welcome the first day of summer, today. And how appropriate that we present to you one of our latest designer labels to join our roster, B.E. SHIELDS. A graduate at the Fashion Design program at College Lasalle (Montreal, Quebec), designer Theresa Ibbetson now resides in Toronto, where B.E. SHIELDS was created.

Her latest collection is her S/S 2012 line. While the whole collection is unconventionally black in colour for the S/S season, the designs and materials are clearly made for it. Beautiful and elegant silk pieces, with a fluidity that permeates a graceful look. Built with simplistic lines and a traditional feel, yet it still remains edgy and modern.

Breeyn McCarney showed her latest collection last week. It was a collaboration with artist Irena Komadinic. The collection is called Vessel, and is inspired by the human heart. The couture pieces are very artistic, and Komadinic’s hand-paint job created a special flare to this collection. Some of the stand-out pieces include the red knit dress, the white wrap dress, the leather corset and the red sequin dress, aka, the hundred hours dress.

If you are hoping to own a piece from the Vessel collection, then you are in luck. This coming fall, Breeyn McCarney will have a capsule collection based on this runway show. Keep an eye on Ukamaku as we will be carrying this collection.
